CORK keeper Caoimhín Kelleher is set for a loan switch next season to get first-team experience.

The Ringmahon Rangers graduate featured for Liverpool before the Covid-19 shutdown in the League Cup and was also on the bench for 12 other games.

The Liverpool Echo is this week reporting he's hoping for a campaign as number one and will be allowed explore his options in the Championship during the summer.

Previously, he was linked with a switch to Preston North End, who already have a cohort of Irish players including Alan Browne, Seánie Maguire and Adam O'Reilly.

Back in January, Jurgen Klopp preferred to keep Kelleher at Anfield. Alisson and Adrian are ahead of the 21-year-old right now and to take the next step he needs regular game-time. The Leesider was recently injured but has completed his recovery in lockdown.
