JAMIE'S LADY was crowned the 2020 Heat winner at Clonakilty after an exciting final where she pipped clubmate Slievemish Spring.

In the best time of the day the Aaron Freyne trained ace saw off all comers to conclude a magnificent day for all draghunting enthusiasts.

In the Puppy final there was joy for IHT trainer Gerry Murphy when his charge Guinness landed the spoils crossing the tape ahead of the trio from the Kerry Pike/Fair Hill Harriers trainer Timmy McCarthy kennel.

Kennelmates Sheares Park Bring it On, Sheares Park Has to be Heard and Sheares Park Son all ran their usual consistent races to finish ahead of Kerry Man and Jamie’s Gem.

The day began with the first of four Senior Heats and it was no surprise the fun running Slievemish Spring took the honours to lead from start to finish.

In the second Senior heat Harvey Jack trained by Trina and Ken Long of Southern/Carrigaline Harriers showed his acceleration on the finish to qualify for the final with a sterling run.

Jazzy Whizz was another front runner to take the honours when winning the third Senior Heat.

Former champion and veteran Conor’s Jack is certainly giving trainers Ger and Jennifer Kenneally plenty of fun as she snatched the fourth and final Senior Heat.

The hounds that failed to get a place in the Senior Heats were pitted together for an unplaced Final and the race honours went to Gerry Murphy trained Northern Daisy of the IHT.

News from Kenmare saw the Cork association win the open Puppy draghunt when the Dave and Damien Kidney trained Samantha’s Rose of Southern/Carrigaline Harriers took the honours.

A former Cork association hound Dark Destroyer won the Senior draghunt.

Formerly trained by Christy and Marie Keating of Kerry Pike/Hill Harriers Dark Destroyer lost his appetite for racing after colliding with electric fencing but in the open terrain of Kerry he produces his best form.

The Tristan Herlihy trained Blue Star of Kerry Pike/Fair Hill snatched fourth ticket in the Senior Maiden draghunt.
