Eire Og 1-10

Milford 0-9

JUST a point divided the sides at the interval in Coachford as two evenly matched sides battled to gain control in this SE Systems Senior Championship clash.

And so it was until the final moments of the game until a late Siobhan Hutchinson goal for Eire Og saw them over the line.

Milford playing with the aid of the wind made all the early running as they applied a lot of pressure on the Eire Og defense.

Level at two points a piece inside ten minutes Eire Og went two clear thanks to points from Emma Crowley and the accuracy of free taker Margaret O'Herlihy.

Rebecca Finn cut it to a point converting a free but again Eire Og edged in front with Maebh Ellen Desmond finding the range.

Battling hard Milford were back on level before O’ Herlihy converted a forty five to give Eire Og a 0-7 to 0-6 interval lead.

On the resumption it was Eire Og enjoying the lions share of possession but a resolute Milford defense stood strong.

Margaret O’Herlihy has converted a forty five and had one from play in a low scoring third quarter and at the water break it was advantage Eire Og by three points.

With Laura Stack and Eadaoin’s Goggin beginning to win a lot of possession Milford showed great heart and they put the Eire Og defense under a lot of pressure.

Rebecca Finn converted a free to cut the deficit and with Siobhan Hutchinson dropping back deep Eire Og held their composure.

With five minutes remaining Eire Og were left off the hook when Saoirse McCarthy found Eimear O’Gorman with a superb hand pass but her effort with the Eire Og keeper beaten hit the crossbar and bounced over for a point.

Relentlessly they attacked again from the puck out winning a closed in free Rebecca Finn’s effort for a goal was turned for a point.

With just one between the sides and time almost up Eire Og tore down the field and with the second last puck off the game a Siobhan Hutchinson goal finally saw Eire Og over the line.
