ANTHONY NASH: Misfired on a few puck-outs and some of his long deliveries were straight down onto Waterford's dominant half-backs. 5

SEÁN O'LEARY HAYES: Handed his debut with Eoin Cadogan and Colm Spillane out. Found the going tough but constantly showed for ball. 6

DAMIEN CAHALANE: Did well on Stephen Bennett from play in the first half yet caught out for Waterford's goal. 5

SEÁN O'DONOGHUE: Had his hands full marking Waterford's most dangerous attacker, particularly when Dessie Hutchinson got angled balls inside. 5

CHRIS JOYCE: Offered leadership when Cork were under pressure and struck over a fine point but replaced in the last quarter. 6

ROB DOWNEY: Quiet first half, far more involved in the second half. Gleeson drifted deep to land scores. Raw but showed glimpses of that potential. 6

MARK COLEMAN: Pushed up to centre-field to offset Darragh Fitzgibbon's absence, he processed a lot of ball and chipped in with two points. 7

BILL COOPER: Decent second half, landed two scores from long range but Jamie Barron caused a lot of problems pushing on from midfield. 6

CONOR LEHANE: Started like a man on a mission, with two rapid points. Also teed up a Kingston point with a dazzling pick-up and reverse pass. Struggled badly in the second half and taken off. 5

SHANE KINGSTON: Chipped in with 0-4 and his pace caused Waterford real problems. Should have driven on a few times to engineer a couple of goal chances. Continued his good form with UCC and Douglas. 7

DAIRE CONNERY: Deployed as a deep-lying wing-forward on his surprise debut. Set up a few scores but couldn't get to grips with Calum Lyons. 6

SEAMUS HARNEDY: Couldn't get going at all in the first half but slipped over three points to bring Cork back into it. Faded out in the fourth quarter. 5

ALAN CADOGAN: Looked lively initially but struggled to get involved in the second half. An unsually quiet  5

Subs: Jack O'Connor, Billy Hennessy, Luke Meade, Declan Dalton, Brian Turnbull.
