CORK's Adam Idah will head to Finland on Tuesday, after the latest development in the Covid case that has overshadowed Ireland's recent games.

Irish manager Stephen Kenny has called up five players to travel to Helsinki, though Brighton striker Aaron Connolly isn't included.

The news comes after the latest Covid-19 test results ahead of the Nations League tie.

Idah and Connolly were forced out of Ireland's loss to Slovakia last Thursday on penalties late on, while Cork's John Egan and Alan Browne had to miss the scoreless draw with Wales on Sunday as close contacts of a positive Covid test.

West Brom defender Dara O'Shea and Derby County's Jason Knight move up from the U21 squad, while Norwich City and former College Corinthians striker Idah is back after getting the all-clear from the HSE.

QPR midfielder Ryan Manning and Portsmouth forward Ronan Curtis are also included, but not Connolly, who tweeted his disappointment on social media before deleting it.

The Ireland squad and backroom staff were tested for Covid-19 at their Dublin base on Sunday night with results due on Monday afternoon.
