Their second goal, from McCarthy six minutes into the second half, made it 2-6 to 0-9 and he added another point to stretch their lead further.

It took Blarney 16 minutes to get their first score of the second half, when Cathal McCarthy pointed, his goal-bound effort brilliantly tipped over the bar by Valleys keeper, Aaron White.

Kirby added two from frees, the likes of Kenneally kept the scoreboard ticking over at the other end.

Two more from Kirby made it a two-point game, 0-13 to 2-9, with five minutes to go.
