Gardaí have confirmed that three people were taken to Cork University Hospital (CUH) following a collision in West Cork earlier today.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a two vehicle road traffic collision in the townland of Letterlickey in Bantry this morning.
The incident occurred on the L4706 route at approximately 10am.
“The driver of one of these vehicles, a man in his 60s and a female passenger also in her 60s, were taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
“The driver of the second vehicle, a man in his 30s, was also taken to Cork University Hospital to receive treatment,” a Garda spokesperson told.
The road was closed and local diversions were in place while a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators took place.
The road has since reopened.
The Garda spokesperson said investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision in the Letterlickey area of Bantry in West Cork.
The incident occurred earlier today on the L4706 route.
Emergency services are also at the scene.
A Garda spokesperson said the road is currently closed and local diversions are in place.
"The scene will remain preserved for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
"No further information is available at this time," the spokesperson said.
