Gardaí said an investigation into the incident is ongoing. 

A man has been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in East Cork in the early hours of this morning.

The single vehicle incident occurred at approximately 4am in the Whitegate area.

Following this collision, the driver, a man in his 70s, was taken to Cork University Hospital (CUH) for treatment.

His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

A garda spokesperson said an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
