Teen seriously injured in Cork assault

Gardai say the incident occurred just before midnight on Saturday night in Bishopstown

A TEENAGER has been seriously injured in an incident in Cork city in which a hammer is believed to have been used.

The incident occurred in Bishopstown just before midnight on Saturday night, according to gardaí.

In a statement, gardaí said: “It is understood that a number of persons were involved in the altercation. One male was seriously injured during the incident. He was treated at the scene by Ambulance services and taken to Cork University Hospital.”
