Almost 1,500 premises in a Cork suburb impacted by a fault earlier today have had their power restored.
A total of 1,469 customers were impacted by a fault on the network in the Douglas, Alden, Grange Heights & Westgrove areas at around 10.25am.
A spokesperson for ESB Networks said that the outage was caused as a result of a cable fault on the local network, which was isolated by crews.
"All customers had power restored by 12 noon approx. We apologise for the inconvenience caused," the spokesperson said.
A significant power outage is affecting a large number of premises in a Cork suburb.
ESB Networks said it is working to repair a fault in the Douglas area which at one point was affecting more than 1,300 premises.
The outage happened at around 10.15 am this morning.
At 11am, more than 800 premises remained affected.
ESB Networks said the current estimated restoration time is 2pm.
