Marina reopens after body removed from water 

Emergency services attend the scene of an incident on the Marina.

LATEST: The Marina has now been reopened to traffic. 

Gardaí were called to the scene earlier today and the body of a woman was removed from the Lee. 

The remains have been removed to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

It is understood that there is nothing to indicate that the death is suspicious. 

EARLIER: A section of the Marina in Cork city has been closed off this morning while emergency services deal with an incident in the area. 

Gardaí and a number of units of the fire service are currently in attendance. 

Pedestrians and other road users have been turned back from the area in the last hour.
