Worker injured assembling roller coaster ride at Funderland in Cork

A MAN has been taken to hospital after being injured when erecting a roller coaster ride at Funderland in Cork city.

The man was hit when a metal beam collapsed when he was constructing the ride at the old CMP site on Pearse Road in Ballyphehane after 9am this morning.

The man, who is in his 30s, was taken to hospital by ambulance but he has since been released from hospital.

The Health and Safety Authority has been notified and inspectors are on their way to the site this afternoon.

The extent of the man’s injuries are not yet known.
