The late Nicola Collins arrives to Our Lady & St. Brendan's Church Tralee.

THE heartbroken family and friends of a Cork mother tragically murdered in a Cork apartment united in grief this morning to say one final goodbye.

Nicola Collins, a 39-year-old mother-of-three, lost her life at a premises on Popham's Road in Farranree just over a week ago.

While Nicola had been living in the Togher area of Cork, she was originally from Tralee, Co Kerry.

She was laid to rest in her hometown this morning, surrounded by loved ones.

Her requiem mass took place at 11am this morning at Our Lady & St Brendan's Church, followed by interment at Rath Ceremony.

Nicola's devastated family said the woman “would be sorely missed” by her parents, Michael and Kay, her sister Carly, her children Nick, Adam and Michael, and by her former husband Elaije.

Gardai are currently still investigating Nicola's death and are calling for anyone who might have any information to come forward.

The authorities questioned a man about the murder last week, but later released him without charge.

The next day another man was arrested and questioned, but he too was later released without charge.

Anyone who might have any information is asked to contact Gardai at Mayfield Garda Station on 021 455 8510 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
