With celebrity chefs, al fresco dining and world-class cuisine, Ballycotton is gearing up to become a true foodie paradise as part of the Banquet by the Bay event.

The series is to take shape in the area's Bayview Hotel, which is perched on the ruggedly beautiful coastline in the middle of the charming fishing village.

While the four-star manor house hotel has been going from strength to strength in recent years, catering for romantic getaways and weddings, the venue is now looking to entice people in with a series of food-themed events.

The Banquet by the Bay series starts this month - July 28 - with The Mackrel Run, featuring seafood directly from Ballycotton’s pier.

Following suit is the Sexy Seafood evening, aking place on August 18, which is sure to get a few pulses racing and palettes tingling.

The third event on the calendar, set for September 15, will celebrate the amazing food, drink and music on offer in sunny Portugal.

The evening will have a distinctly Mediterranean feel, with al fresco dining as the order of the night. The finest Portuguese wine will be paired with some of the country’s signature dishes, while the dinnertime music and the stunning coastal view will transport you directly to the sunny shores of Lisbon.

With their sights set on finishing out the season with a bang, The Bayview Swing on October 20 will be the most exciting event on the hotel’s calendar this year. This black tie, 1920s-themed event will combine decadence with fun in equal measure. From the champagne and oyster arrival reception right through to the mouth-watering menu and elegant dinnertime music, this is one party sure to give Gatsby a run for his money.

Prices for each night are €65 per person for the food event only, or €110 per person for the food event, a night's accommodation, and breakfast the next day. Tickets to each event are limited, so early booking is advised.
