Bike riders from across Ireland to descend on Robert's Cove 

Cork Motorcycle Racing and Vintage Club’s 2017 Hill Climb event will once more take place at Roberts Cove this weekend,

This year, the event has been expanded to a two-day affair on Saturday and Sunday and promises to be a bikes and music festival for all the family.

Competition action will take place on both days, while Thin Lizzy tribute outfit, Live Lizzy will take to the stage on the Saturday at 8pm, entertaining Hillclimb supporters, competitors, locals and holiday makers. 

A Bouncy Castle will be on hand to entertain youngsters while youth members of the Youghal Motorcycle Trials and Vintage Club will put on a display on Sunday.

Competitors from all over Ireland to compete for the coveted ‘King of the Hill’ title and class honours in six categories including - Classic Superbike class for motorcycles that are pre 1993 and where the combined age of rider and bike is 70 plus for men and 60 plus for women. 

Other classes include - 600cc plus triples to 675cc. Up to 530 cc plus Single cylinder machines up to 700cc and 650cc twins. Pre injection 600cc and twins to 750cc. Plus the 601cc - 1010cc class. 

Quad bikes will also compete in a class for these exciting machines, usually seen off road.

Fans are in for a feast of motorcycle racing where an array of race and standard bikes will be on display and competing. Local rider Nicky Farrissey will be back in action fresh from her recent exploits at The Masters at Mondello while a host of riders from all over the country, will be leading the charge together with plenty of upcoming names in racing and possibly a surprise or two, ready to become King of the Hill.

Robert's Cove 2017 will be a family weekend with lots to see and do, while the course has many vantage points, ideal for fans to get the best views of the action as riders compete against the hill and the clock. 

The action begins at 2pm on Saturday and from 10am on Sunday.
