The tenth year of the Shandon Street Festival is set to take place next week.
The event, which is a free fun day running from 1pm to 6pm on Shandon Street, will be held this year on Saturday, June 24.
According to organiser Holly O’Connor, the event looks to reinvigorate the strong community spirit in the area and everyone is invited to call down for a look around.
“We invite you to participate in this, our festive occasion, not just as spectators, but as honoured guests with whom we share our good wholesome entertainment," she said.
The event will be awash with colour and activities with stilt walkers, face painters, puppet and magic shows all on standby to entertain the masses.
As well as that there will be Mexican and Irish dancers, balloon modelling, circus skills, an animal road show, a magic show, a drumming workshop and kids arts and crafts.
The crowds will also be graced with the attendance of Mickey and Minnie mouse, which is sure to put a smile on the faces of many children.
For anyone looking for nibbles, there will be a multitude of sweet treats and savoury snacks to choose from.
O’Flynn’s Gourmet Sausage Company will be there along with Clonakilty Ice Cream, Mimi’s crepes, Robbie’s Coffee, Dinky Donuts, Candy Floss and Popcorn.
“There is loads to do for all ages throughout the day from music acts to magic acts,” said organiser Holly.
