Cork fans nab Ed Sheeran tickets

Fans from Knocknaheeny, Farranree and Mayfield, in the queue for Ed Sheeran tickets outside Merchant’s Quay Shopping Centre.

While one lucky lotto winner is almost €30m richer this morning, hundreds of Ed Sheeran fans lined the streets of Cork this morning all vying for a lucky ticket of a different kind.

At the top of the queue was Anthony Hayes from Ballyphehane who, on Wednesday, was the very first person to kick start the waiting game. Selflessly, he was waiting to nab tickets for his two nieces – Isabel and Amy.

By this morning, the queue he had started was extending from the Merchant's Quay Ticketmaster outlet all the way down the quay, extending onto Patrick Street.

Tickets for Ed Sheeran in Pairc Ui Chaoimh went on sale this morning at 9am.
