A Cork mum is enjoying life as a viral sensation after recreating Beyoncé’s baby photo shoot with her own twins.
The American superstar posted a picture of herself holding her son and daughter on Instagram yesterday, captioned: “Sir Carter and Rumi 1 month today.”
The image was carefully posed in front of a floral arch, with Beyoncé wearing a flowing veil and multicoloured dress.
Sharon Kellaway from Kilworth saw the picture and decided to have a go at something similar with her five-month-old twins, Senan and Zoe.
“I happened to have a quiet moment in the afternoon so I decided to take a picture with my twins for the craic,” she said. “I initially tried to take it myself in the kitchen but couldn’t manage so I called my older children.” “My daughter Megan was rushing because her friends were waiting for her so I just grabbed the blanket off the line and got her to take a few quick pictures. The veil is a communion veil I bought on sale a few years ago for the kids to play with. I pulled it from the dress-up box.” Sharon was chatting online with friends in Canada and put one of the pictures in the group chat.
“They said to post it on Facebook so I did, expecting maybe 30 or 40 likes. But it went mad straightaway, I had people asking me to make the post public so they could share it.
“I’m not on Twitter but my friend in Canada is and as soon as she shared it, it was being retweeted all over the place.” Sharon, her husband Peter and three older children Darragh, Hollie and Megan watched the picture appear on news sites around the world as the night wore on: “There wasn’t a child in the house washed!” She woke up this morning to a flood of interview requests and will be on Irish radio on Monday.
And is she a big fan of Beyoncé? “I haven't seen her in concert but would follow her as much as the next person. I found her pregnancy photos elaborate!”
