IRELAND'S luck in the EuroMillions is continuing - and this time the winning ticket was sold in Cork.
Lotto punters in Co Cork will be frantically checking their tickets after it emerged that a EuroMillions ticket worth almost €370,000 was sold in Mallow.
It follows last week's jackpot winner of €28.9 million, which was sold in Castlebar in Co Mayo.
Foley's Foodstore in Ballydaheen in Mallow sold the ticket, last Friday, July 7, which is now worth a huge €369,210.
It matched five numbers and one lucky star in Tuesday's draw, meaning it was just one lucky star away from hitting the €17 million jackpot.
Speculation is rife in Mallow that the winning ticket was snapped up by a local syndicate.
Elaine Foley, owner of Foley's Foodstore, said, "We are absolutely delighted for our customers. We believe that it is a local work syndicate that won the huge prize and everybody in the town is chuffed for them and we wish them the best of luck.
"We are a small independent shop surrounded by big stores and we have been punching above our weight with big lottery wins recently. A couple of weeks ago, we sold a winning Bingo Times 10 scratch card worth €50,000 so we are proving to be a very lucky shop for our customers."
The winning numbers are 14, 22, 26, 42, 50. Lucky stars: 8, 10.
