A NEW music track written and performed by northside teenagers has been launched in Gurranabraher.

The track, ‘Blacken My Soul’, has been produced by Garry McCarthy, from GMCBeats, and was written by young people who every Tuesday attend the weekly ‘rapping, songwriting and beats’ group, at The Hut.

The group attended a number of drug-and-alcohol workshops delivered by the local drugs worker, Therese Spillane, and youth worker, Joe Curtin.

This project was funded by the Cork Local Drug & Alcohol Task Force and forms part of Drug & Alcohol Awareness Month.

People are encouraged to attend relevant events and to promote these events to service-users, community members, and professionals.
