ICONIC 80s band A-ha have been announced as the latest act to perform at next summer's Live At the Marquee concerts in Cork.
The iconic Norwegian trio are set to perform on June 12 as part of their Electric Summer 2018 Tour performing some of their biggest hits.
Returning to next summer's Marquee oncert is Jenny Greene and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. Greene played two sold-out shows at the Marquee earlier this year.
She returns on Friday, June 22.
A-ha are globally one of the most iconic pop bands to hail from the 1980s. The multi-platinum selling group are composed of lead vocalist Morten Harket, guitarist Pal Waaktaar-Savoy and keyboardist Magne Furuholmen.
Widely regarded as true pioneers of both music and video technology to arise during the mid-80s, they are perhaps best known for their huge and instantly recognisable hit Take on Me which made number one internationally, matched by their single The Sun Always Shines on TV.
The trio have gone on to release ten studio and two live albums plus their latest highly acclaimed MTV Unplugged album. Year on year Take on Me has also been voted one of the greatest music videos of all time.
A-ha join Christy Moore, comedian Dara O'Briain and Bell X1 as the acts announced so far for Live At the Marquee 2018.
Following their recent acoustic album their 2018 Electric Summer Tour will see A-ha return to a full electric set playing their biggest hits and new material. The trio will be joined by a full new band.
