BLIZZARD ENTERTAINMENT, a company whose games are played online by more than 40 million people worldwide, have thanked IDA Ireland for bringing them to the north side of Cork city a decade ago.
The company employ 500 people in their offices in the Blackpool Retail Park and last night held a party to celebrate 10 years in the city.
“We have come so far in this decade,” site director Rodger Sanders told the gathered crowd. “We have employed hundreds of people from near and far, from Australians to people who grew up on the streets around us. And now we are all Corkonians.
“Thank you to our friends in the IDA who were instrumental in us finding a home in Cork here in the Atrium building.
“Those guys are obviously good at their job because 10 years later we are still happily in the exact same spot where we started.”
