Cork Comic Expo set to return next week

Comic artist Will Sliney pictured ahead of the first Cork Comic Expo. The popular event returns next week on April 14.

THE second Cork Comic Expo will take place in just over a week.

Mahon Point will once again host thousands of comic fans as superhero creators, colourists and illustrators gather for the event.

Organised by Will Sliney, known for his work on Marvel's Fearless Defenders series, the event will have a host of high profile artists looking to offer tips and advice to young comic creators.

This includes Cork's Chris O'Halloran, known for his work as a colourist for Marvel's Spiderman, Deadpool, Avengers and Black Panther lines; Ellie Wright, the award-winning colourist who works on Stan Lee's Lucky Man; as well as Dublin's Triona Farrell, who works on Adventure Time and Doctor Who.

Also at the event will be Wexford’s Nick Roche a comic book artist who has worked on Spider-Man, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Monster Motors and Belfast artist PJ Holden, known for his work on James Bond.

Cork Comic Creators, a group of talented artists, will also be at the event showcasing their own self-published comics.

The second Cork Comic Expo will take place at Mahon Point Shopping Centre on Saturday, April 14. It is free to enter.
