The curtain officially came down on Feis Maitiú Corcaigh 2018 last night.

The 92nd festival attracted some 9,000 participants this year and many repeat Feis performers said it was the most enjoyable festival to date.

“It has been good but challenging, particularly with the snow, which has caused a lot of difficulties for a lot of organisations and so consequently we have had to reorganise some of our events,” said festival director Timothy McCarthy.”

One of the highlights in Father Matthew Hall for the younger performers was the ‘How did it go?’ board. It allowed participants to write their comments prior to and after their performance.

“It was very interesting to read some of their messages, it gives an insight into how they were feeling and what they were thinking at the time,” said Tim.

Classes that were cancelled due to Storm Emma have been rescheduled. Further details can be found at www.feismaitiu.ie
