Man in 70s dead after Ballyhooly road crash

A MAN in his 70s was killed in an early morning road accident in Cork city.

The single vehicle accident happened at 8.10am at the junction of Ballyhooley Road and Gordon’s Hill. He was the passenger in the vehicle. The car was being driven by a woman, also in her 70s. She was injured and was taken to Cork University Hospital.

The dead man had not been named. His body was removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem was due to take place later today.

The road has been sealed off and a forensic examination was being carried out there this morning.
