THE cast and crew of the Young Offenders are preparing to walk the red carpet at Cork's English Market on Saturday night.

The final episode of the hit TV series will be screened in the Market on Saturday night - four days before it appears for television audiences - at a star-studded bash.

The English Market played a major role in the hit movie and an even bigger role in the new series which has been running on RTÉ2 in recent weeks.

Peter Foott, creator of The Young Offenders said “We spent so long filming in The English Market, it has been such an integral part of The Young Offenders, that it seems perfect to have the premiere of the last episode of series one there. The team in the Market have been so accommodating and even starred in some of the episodes so we’re delighted to show the final episode in Cork and celebrate with the people of Cork”.

Speaking ahead of the tickets going on sale, Órla Lannin, Manager of The English Market said “This event is going to be so exciting and we are so thrilled to host it here in The English Market, the cast and crew are regulars in here now and were an absolute pleasure to work with so to have them back to screen the final episode and celebrate the huge success it has been is fantastic. We often host big events here in the market but this event is extra special and is on a much higher scale, I have no doubt the tickets will sell out instantly as I’ve already had people ringing looking to get their hands on them, they’ll be like gold dust”.

Tickets went on sale on Tuesday 27th February 2018 and sold out immediately. The tickets are €10.00 with all proceeds going to the Cork-based national charity Straight Ahead, which carries out “just in time” operations on children with Orthopaedic needs that are not being met by the HSE. http://straightaheadireland.ie/.

Guests in attendance will be treated to other entertainment alongside the premiere of episode 6 of The Young Offenders - stay tuned to Cork’s RedFM, media partner for the event, for updates. The Young Offenders TV series, commissioned by BBC3, is broadcast on RTÉ2 on Thursdays at 9.30pm, on the RTÉ Player, and on BBC1 on Fridays straight after The Graham Norton Show.
