Gardaí have arrested a man in his 20s and seized approximately €3,800 euro worth of suspected cocaine in Ballincollig last night.
Shortly before midnight, Gardaí from Gurranabraher stopped and searched a vehicle on the Ballincollig bypass. During the course of the search, Gardaí discovered suspected cocaine with an estimated value of €3,800.
The man was arrested at the scene and brought to Gurranabraher Garda Station.
He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 and has since been released without charge. A file will be prepared for the DPP.
Separately, Gardaí have arrested and charged a man in his 30s in relation to a burglary at a coffee shop on Carey's Lane yesterday.
At approximately 2pm Gardaí from Anglesea Street were called to scene of a burglary. Following a search of the surrounding area, a man in his 30s was arrested and brought to Anglesea Street Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The man has been charged to appear before Cork City District Court this morning in relation to this incident and four other burglaries which occurred at business premises in the Cork City area during June 2018.
