IT’S not too late to take part in this year’s Evening Echo Women’s Mini Marathon.
Up to 8,000 women — and a few men dressed as women — will take to the streets of Cork tomorrow, raising hundreds of thousands of euro for charities all over the city and county.
Now in its 37th year, the event has become one of Munster’s premier women’s road races.
The event is hosted by the Athletic Association of Ireland (Cork) and all proceeds from registration fees will go to the organisation to assist with the development of athletics in the Cork region.
The 2018 race will be run over six kilometres, starting on the Centre Park Road at 1pm and taking in The Marina, Blackrock Village, Ballintemple, Maryville, Monahan Road and finishing in Kennedy Park.
Entries will be taken today until 4pm at Tesco, Wilton Shopping Centre and Tesco, Paul Street Shopping Centre. People can also enter on race day, tomorrow, from 10.30am to 12.30pm. There is a Late Entries Desk on Mill Road, off Victoria Road, near the Race Start Area. Entry costs €20 today and tomorrow.
