Metropole unveils €2.5m refurbishment

A €2.5m refurbishment of the Metropole Hotel, the longstanding home of Cork Jazz, has been unveiled just in time for this year’s festival.
General manager Roger Russell is hoping jazz enthusiasts will be wowed by the hotel’s revamped bar, restaurant and tea room, the MET, which was launched yesterday.
“The Metropole is truly the heart and soul of the Jazz Festival with it all starting here,” he said. “We have four nights of jam-packed jazz entertainment at the hotel and this year we have a very special VIP package for jazz enthusiasts.”
The MET is the latest part of the multi-million makeover which the hotel has undergone this year.
It also included the refurbishment of all 108 bedrooms and has led to the creation of five additional jobs.
Aaron Mansworth, Group General Manager at Trigon Hotels, said: “We cannot wait to show off the hotel to new and returning guests and visitors.”
