Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a second shooting incident in less than a week on the northside of Cork city.

Two gunshots were discharged at the halting site at Spring Lane at approximately 3.45am this morning.

A lone man appeared on the site and discharged shots from a firearm before fleeing through Glenfields Avenue, Ballyvolane. No injuries were reported and a car was heard driving away.

A Garda crime scene investigation unit attended the scene Saturday morning.
