The National Lottery today urged players in Cork to check their tickets to see if they are Ireland’s newest millionaire and winner of Saturday night’s Lotto Plus 1 top prize of €1 million.
The winning ticket was sold at the Centre store in Carrigtwohill. The winning numbers for the Lotto Plus draw were: 15, 23, 25, 29, 30, 31, 32 and the bonus number was 32.
This is the third winner of the Lotto Plus 1 top prize of one million euros since Lotto and Lotto Plus game changes were introduced on September 1.
The latest Cork Lotto millionaire is the third such winner of the top prize since the prize for Lotto Plus 1 doubled from €500,000 to €1 million.
The delighted manager of the Centra store that sold last night’s Lotto Plus 1 winning ticket, Michael Creedon, said: “We’re absolutely buzzing this morning, this is incredible news for our customers. The vast majority of our customers are local so we are really hoping that one of them has become the latest Lotto millionaire."
"The news is spreading quite fast as people are calling in for their Sunday papers after mass so we are encouraging everybody to check their tickets to ensure that that they don’t miss out on this life-changing prize,” he said.
Last week a married couple from the south of Ireland collected a cheque for €4.4 million after they won the Lotto jackpot the previous Saturday.
The couple, who are remaining anonymous, were on a bank holiday break with their young family when they decided to stop at a shop in Milltown, Co Galway, to purchase a ticket.
Instead of wildly celebrating their massive jackpot win, the husband and wife instead drew up a plan as to how they would be able to help those people nearest to them: “You always think that you will go absolutely wild when you win a Lotto jackpot but it was a very emotional experience. Following all of the excitement of checking the ticket, genuinely The first thing that we did was to write a list of the family and friends we would be able to help with this amount of money.
