TWO Cork celebrities have survived to dance another day in this year’s Dancing with the Stars.

Rugby legend Peter Stringer and Young Offender’s star Demi Isaac Oviawe survived the switch-up week, which saw the contestants swap dancing partners with varying degrees of success.

No one was eliminated at the end of this special edition of the show — but the votes did count, as the scores earned by the stars will carry over to next week’s show, when the dance-off returns and someone will be eliminated. Demi and her dance partner, Robert Rowinski, finished last with just 13 points after performing the Charleston to Wings by Little Mix.

Despite scoring the lowest amount of points on the night, Demi said she had fun performing the routine.

“I had so much fun. I was really nervous before I went out.” Meanwhile, Peter and Valerie Milova gained 16 points after performing a cha cha.

Judge Loraine Barry said the routine was missing a key ingredient, the hips, and said it was “like watching rugby without any tries.” Speaking after the performance however, Peter said he really enjoyed it.

With a total of 28 points — including the first 10 this season, from Julian — Cliona Hagan and Vitali Kozmin were the judges’ favourites on the night. Mairéad Ronan and Kai Widdrington finished two points behind.
