A Cork man who won €28,000 on the Winning Streak game show at the weekend has promised to put it towards renovating his home.
Adrian Raymond from Togher was thrilled to get the opportunity to go on the show as he was continuing a family tradition.
Adrian’s late grandmother, Bridget, watched the show religiously every week and harboured the ambition to get on the show one day. Adrian lived with his gran for a period while he was saving for a house before she passed away late in 2017.
Adrian and his partner Megan kept up the tradition of watching the show whenever they could, buying the occasional Winning Streak scratch card.
In fact it was Megan who bought the scratch card for him and his grandmother was at the forefront of his thoughts as he took to the Winning Streak studio win a tidy €28,000.
Just over two years ago Adrian and Megan moved into their own home, a ‘fixer-upper’ which they have been working on. With his Winning Streak winnings, Adrian now plans to complete the house snag list quicker than planned and a new kitchen and maybe an extension are on his wish list.
Adrian has been working for shipping company, Sanskip, for more than seven years. An excited bunch of family and friends from Cork travelled to Dublin to cheer him on in the RTÉ audience last Saturday. Among them were Megan and Adrian’s parents Geraldine and Barry. Adrian’s only sibling Laura lives in London was watching on in anticipation on the RTÉ Player.
