Peter Stringer and Demi Isaac Oviawe will fly the flag for Cork in the new series of Dancing with the Stars when it returns to RTÉ One in the New Year.
The Munster legend and The Young Offenders star appeared on The Late Late Show last night to announce the new line-up, and Mr Stringer admitted he doesn’t have much dance experience.
“I’ve never danced on a dance floor before so going from that to dancing in front of a live audience will be a whole new experience for me,” he said. “I’m nervous but up for the challenge!”
Nigerian-born actress Ms Isaac Oviawe, who captured the nations’ hearts with her sweet and funny role in The Young Offenders, can’t wait to start dancing.
“I’m so excited to be involved in this year’s show,” she said. “I can’t wait to get started and learn a new skill. I’m hoping that I can be a role model for young black women in Ireland and maybe some might even follow in my dance steps!”
Other celebrities taking part this year include tv presenters Mairead Ronan and Darren Kennedy, Fair City actress Clelia Murphy, former Dublin footballer Denis Bastick and country music singer Cliona Hagan.
