The organisers of this year's St Patrick's Day parade have issued a call out for participants.

Presented by Cork City Council, the Cork St. Patrick’s Festival will take place from Friday, March 15 to Monday, March 18.

The theme of the festival this year is Stories of Cork. The festival will feature live music, entertainment and the much-loved Cork St Patrick’s Day Parade, attended annually by up to 50,000 spectators and 3,000 participants.

The theme of this year’s Parade, which will begin at 1pm on Sunday March 17th, is “Stories of Cork”. The Parade will feature a host of colourful community and sporting groups, marching bands from near and far, and some amazing commissioned pieces from professional street theatre companies.

The parade runs from the South Mall to the Grand Parade, along St. Patrick’s Street and finishes at Merchant’s Quay.

Festival organisers Cork City Council now invite community groups to think creatively and to interact with the theme of the 2019 parade.

The Application Form for the Cork St Patrick’s Day Parade is available at http://www.corkstpatricksfestival.ie or from the Cork City Council Arts & Events Office at 021 492 4096.

The closing date for receipt of applications is Monday, February 18.
