Young Offenders Conor and Jock are getting a Christmas outing, and tackling one of Ireland’s major social issues in the process.
It has been revealed that Cork’s favourite troublemakers will be back on our screens for a one-off special in December.
According to the BBC, it is Christmas week in the show and the residents of the estate where the boys live with Mairead have been fighting off an eviction from the council.
“The residents have created a barricade to show their determination that they won't be moved to make way for the estate to be renovated, afraid that they might never get back into their homes if forced out. The situation has been getting national media coverage and everyone involved is on edge, including the police.
“While all this is happening, Mairead has been sick for weeks and has to be taken to hospital - a place Conor and Jock hate.”
With Mairead unwell the lads try to make a dream come true for her but when Billy Murphy gets involved ‘all hell breaks loose’.
Sounds like it has the makings on an instant classic.
As if that wasn’t enough to tempt fans, former Love/Hate star Robert Sheehan also makes a guest appearance.
The episode is being shown on the BBC on December 14, while RTÉ have said they will announce the Irish air date in the coming weeks.
