Man due in court following knifepoint raid on Shandon Street 

A MAN was due in court this morning in connection with a knifepoint raid in a Cork city shop.

A sum of cash was stolen in the raid at a shop on Shandon Street at around 8pm on January 6.

A man dressed in dark clothes went into the shop and threatened the staff with the knife.

A man was arrested by investigating gardaí yesterday morning. 

He was questioned at Mayfield garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

He was due in court this morning at 10.30am.
