Man arrested over South Mall mugging

Gardaí have arrested and charged a man in his 30s in relation to a robbery incident that occurred on South Mall earlier this month.

Shortly after 3pm on January 13, a man was approached by the suspect, armed with what is believed to be a knife, who demanded he hand over his wallet. 

The suspect then left the scene with a small amount of cash. The victim was not injured during the incident.

On Saturday, Gardaí from Anglesea St arrested a man in his 30s in relation to the incident. He was detained at Bridewell Garda station and has since been charged to appear before the courts at a later date.
