Abina Hennessy from Togher made a highly successful appearance on Winning Streak at the weekend, walking away with €50,000 in cash and a holiday to Madeira.
Abina had serious support with her in the Winning Streak studio.
Her husband of 47 years, Patrick, was joined by five of the couple’s six adult children Siobhan, Patrick Jr, Yvonne, Jason and Marguerite and grandchildren Leanne, Lauren, Scott, Dylan and Jodie.
Their son Mark couldn’t attend as he was representing Cork in the All-Ireland Rings Championship final, while granddaughter Kelly was boxing in the Munster championships.
Abina was watching Winning Streak with Patrick the previous week and popped into the kitchen to prepare the Sunday roast for the next day’s dinner. She returned to the news she had been drawn to appear on the show, which is the second longest running game show in Europe.
Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on Winning Streak and all National Lottery games go back to good causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts and heritage. In 2018, the National Lottery raised over €227 million for such causes.
