The postmortem of the man who was found dead in a house in Mahon overnight has been postponed until tomorrow.
The examination was supposed to take place today after the body of the man in his 50’s was found in a house at Avenue de Rennes at around midnight.
But the State Pathologist was tied up with a court case all day in Dublin and will travel to Cork tomorrow to carry out the tests.
Gardaí have launched an investigation. A spokesperson said they are keeping an open mind on the cause of death and examining all possibilities.
The results of the postmortem tests will determine the course of the investigation.
