The Crosshaven community is coming together to help the man whose Crosshaven home was destroyed by vandals.

Pierce O'Keeffe found his cottage ransacked over the weekend after it was broken into it late on Friday night.

While the damage is still being assessed, the community have already come together to help Pierce, with a Go Fund Me page set up to help him with the cost of the repairs to the cottage. A target was set at €2,500.

O'Keeffe is well-known throughout the coastal town and has spearheaded projects, such as paving the footsteps and pathway down on to Graball Beach.

The cottage has been in the O'Keeffe family for generations and as well as helping create a safe entry on to Graball Beach, has also been involved in many other community projects.
