BIG tent, big hats and a Burning Ring of Fire - country cowboys are coming to Cork!

This year's Live at the Marquee festival is going a 'little bit country', by inviting some of Ireland’s best-loved stars to perform some of the greatest country songs ever written.

The June 29 hoedown in the docklands has been dubbed 'country music as you have never heard it before' when the songs "you know and love" will be performed by the spectacular 50-piece RTÉ Concert Orchestra conducted by Gavin Murphy.

Stars such as Michael English, Lisa McHugh, Robert Mizzell, Philomena Begley, Ray Lynam, Patrick Feeney and Roly Daniels will come together with the Orchestra to perform many of their individual hits, as well as surprise duets of some the greatest country songs ever written.

Rhinestone Cowboy, He Stopped Loving Her Today, 9 to 5, Blanket on the Ground, Ring Of Fire and The Gambler are just a taste of what’s in store.

Between them, the stars of Country Roads have scored number 1 records, sold out venues all over Ireland and won a plethora of awards and accolades.

MC for the evening will be Risin’ Time, RTÉ Radio One presenter Shay Byrne.

Tickets for Country Roads go on sale from Monday, March 11, at 9am from Ticketmaster. Tickets will be priced €40.
