The bus shelter across from the Toyota garage on the Cork Road had all its windows smashed, leaving shards scattered all over the ground, spilling out onto the road, the grass behind and across the bench. Sharp pieces of the glass still held within the frame, with the potential to cause harm to commuters.

Further up the Cork Road, the bus stop opposite the entrance to Herons Wood estate, also had a pane of glass smashed, leaving shards scattered across the bench and pavement.

When asked about the incident, a Bus Éireann spokesperson said: "Bus Éireann condemns any anti-social behaviour and thankfully such incidents are rare. JC Decaux both provide and maintain the Bus Shelters on behalf of the National Transport Authority (NTA). The damage to the two shelters in Carrigaline has been reported to JC Decaux who will arrange the repair work."
