Corkonians are known for taking pride in their city as the real Irish capital, and it looks like that belief soon spreads to visitors.

Love/Hate star Robert Sheehan visited Cork last year, to film the Young Offenders Christmas Special and it looks like the city left one helluva an impact.

For St Patrick’s Day Netflix, whose latest show The Umbrella Academy has Mr Sheehan in a leading role, sat him down and asked some difficult questions.

He was asked to choose his favourite in a number of key Irish categories, including Best Crips, Best Rugby Team, Best Tea and Best Stout.

He made some decisions Corkonians would probably disagree with but when it came to the big one the Laoise native didn’t hesitate.

“I’m gonna elicit a few screeches now from home,” he said, when asked about Best City. “I think Cork.

“Cork, that’s right, screw you Dublin. Cork, that’s the real epicentre of Irishness. Not ye Dubs inside the wall or whatever.”

Good man Robert, you’re welcome back in Cork anytime.
