The Saleen and District Residents Association are hosting a night packed with great Irish music on Sunday 14th April, with all funds raised going towards CHASE. Joining The Frank & Walters are MAKO DC and Ian Whitty & The Exchange. Driven by soaring synths and pulsating bass lines, the duo that make up MAKO DC who have previously toured with Iggy Pop and Linkin Park, are going to light up Ballymaloe Grainstore. Ian Whitty & The Exchange will bring a heartwarming folk-indie fusion to proceedings when they take to the stage.
Headlining the event, The Frank & Walters have an extensive back-catalogue spanning back to 1991 and are sure to take the audience through a career-spanning set. They've been all over the globe but are now heading back to Cork for the special event in aid of CHASE.
Established back in 2001, CHASE is a community group whose aim is to prevent an incinerator from being built in Ringaskiddy. The group have campaigned relentless, with people from surrounding areas, such as Carrigaline, Cobh, Cork, Crosshaven, Douglas, Kinsale, Midleton, Monkstown/Passage/Glenbrook, Ringaskiddy and Youghal all joining CHASE's cause. The group have raised awareness of the damages an incinerator can cause to the local eco-system and people's health.
