Gardaí warn car owners after vehicles with ‘pro choice’ stickers vandalised

Speaking to The Echo, a Garda source said that there had been patrols in certain areas following a spate of car vandalism in February.
It’s feared the culprit is an anti-abortion extremist who is targeting cars with pro-choice stickers from last year’s Repeal the Eighth referendum.
Eight incidents of criminal damage occurred on separate vehicles across the north side as well as an incident in the city last month.
In one case, a man in a tracksuit was caught on CCTV slashing all four tyres of a car on South Mall.
The cars had Repeal the Eighth and Together for Yes stickers.
Gardaí have said patrols were carried out on the north side of the city following a number of criminal complaints and gardaí were meeting with people and advising and informing them that there was a trend in recent weeks and giving crime prevention advice.
