Gardaí appeal for help after large number of cars damaged in single night 

A witness appeal has been issued by Gardaí following over 20 incidents of criminal damage to vehicles in Macroom town on Sunday.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses in relation to the incidents that happened vehicles parked on Castle Street and New Street in Macroom Town.

Gardaí in Macroom received a report in relation to a large number of vehicles which were damaged by an individual between 2.15am and 3.15am on Sunday, 24 February.

Gardaí said it appears that the individual damaged the vehicles by marking them with an object.

Speaking at Macroom Garda Station, Inspector Eamon Brady said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any vehicle being damaged on Castle Street or New Street in Macroom between 2.15am and 3.15am on Sunday, 24 February.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who was driving in those areas at the time and who have dash cam footage."

Insp Brady also encouraged any other victims of criminal damage on Sunday to come forward.

“If your vehicle was also damaged and you have not reported it, please call us. Gardaí can be contacted at Macroom Garda Station on 026-2059.”
