Man being questioned following major cocaine seizure in Cork 

A MAN is being questioned in Bandon after the seizure of almost €100,000 worth of cocaine.

The seizure was made when a car was stopped yesterday by the Cork West Garda Divisional Drugs Unit in Ballinhassig.

The car was stopped at around 7.30pm.

During a search of the vehicle, gardaí discovered cocaine with an estimated value of €60,000.

The man being questioned today was arrested at the scene and taken to Bandon garda station to be questioned under drug trafficking legislation.

He is in his late 30s.

A follow up search of a house in Bandon yielded a further haul of cocaine, which has been provisionally valued at €34,000.

The seizures will now be sent for forensic analysis to establish purity and the exact value.
