Cork family claim €500k Euromillions win with plans to pay off their mortgage

A FAMILY from Cork city who shared a €500,000 EuroMillions Plus prize collected their cheque from Lotto headquarters yesterday.

The winning ticket was purchased at Buckley’s Kiosk at Merchant’s Quay shopping centre on St Patrick St for the draw on Friday, June 14.

While still coming to terms with their €500,000 windfall, the family said they will pay off their mortgage while they will also spend some time putting a plan in place to fund their children’s education in the future.

Also claiming a Lotto prize yesterday was Josephine Moynihan from north Cork who pocketed a cool €48,308 which she won on May 22 with a ticket she purchased at Dano’s SuperValu, Mallow.

Josephine plans to celebrate her win by travelling to Australia and the USA with her family in the next couple of months.

The biggest winners at Lotto HQ yesterday was a joyous family syndicate from Tipperary who claimed a €1m prize which they won on the Daily Million draw on Wednesday, June 12.
