Man stabbed multiple times in Knocknaheeney

A man in his 30s was taken to Cork University Hospital overnight after being stabbed multiple times in Ardmore Avenue, Knocknaheeney.

The man is being treated in CUH for multiple stab wounds. The incident occurred at around 10:50 PM on Sunday evening.

Speaking to The Echo about the incident, Councillor Mick Nugent said that while it is distressing for locals to hear about this happening on their doorstep, he believes that this is an isolated incident.

“I’m sure people in the local area will be upset that this is happening on their doorsteps when it shouldn’t but I am sure this is an isolated incident.” He said.

Gardaí at Gurranabraher are investigating at the scene, which has been preserved for a technical examination, no arrests have been made. The man's injuries are believed to be not life-threatening.
